I had a chi when I was growing up that would lick and lick and lick and lick forever...she just loved to lick! I think she was trying to clean me, or that she liked the salty taste on my skin. She also LOVED it when I'd put on lotion, and she'd lick that off too.

I think some dogs just like to "Clean" more than others-while some are just face kissers.
