The first time I went to my doctor because I went through the middle of my nail. He gave me antibiotics and had me soak it 3x a day for a few days and it healed ok. The other 2 times it just went through the end of my finger (always the same finger) and I just did the soaky thing and kept it clean and it healed fine.
All 3 times I was sewing on vinyl or waterproff material & it was a rubbery texture. I've made tents, motorcycle covers & sew alot of upholstery material for cushions.
