My little one has flakey skin also, always scratching himself. The vet looked at it and prescribed fish oil capsules. I mix one capsule with food daily. The vet sent me home with a bottle, but you also can get it at the pet store. It's just been a week since he started on it, so I don't know if it's working yet.
