I kept Dallas in an ex-pen for a while with the potty pads. Once I started letting him run around the kitchen, I laid a pad by the door. The more free roam I gave him, I'd stick pads around the dining room and by the back door. Also, I would take him out quite often. Now, I leave 2 pads by the back door and he uses them pretty well.

We do have the occasional accident but if he has one, it's usually right by the pad and not on it. It's seldom that he does that and I don't scold him for it since he had the general area right.

Training takes lots of time. Even my 3 year old will potty in the house if it's raining outside or we have a heavy dew on the grass. I'm just convinced that this breed of dog is just plain stubborn!
