cecilia was spayed 3 weeks ago, and I think it was harder on me than on her. I actually went to three different vets before I chose which one to have spay her. I dropped her off in the morning and then cried all the way to work. i kept checking my cellphone to make sure it was still on and that I had not missed their call. They called me around noon and she did great, she also had her baby canines pulled as she had never lost them even though her big ones were in. They told me I could pick her up around 4pm. Some vets will want to keep them overnight, but since I don't have otherr pets or children at home, they let me take her home. She was very lethargic and I could tell she didn't feel so good, but I think it was mostly the anesthesia. She didn't act like her belly or her mouth hurt. The vet gave me pain meds for her, but she never needed them. The next day she was about 80% back to normal. After a few days she was back to her old self. Neutering is much less invasive and an even quicker recovery. Good luck and keep us informed.
