Daddy went into atrial fibrillation Saturday night. He has a blood clot in his upper left lung and it is affecting his breathing. Because of the clot, his heart can't be shocked back into rhythm, so his doctor is going to do a "scan" of his legs to try to find out if there are clots there. The plan is to insert "filters" into both legs to try to catch clots there before they can travel to the heart and to do an echocardiagram tomorrow to check the condition of his heart. He can't be given blood thinners to try to dissolve the clot in his lungs because of the bleeding problem he has. And, he is allergic to penicillen.
