The beet pulp thing is not really true. They beets used in dog food are white beets not red beets. There are some products that are available. Angel eyes is supposed to work well but it is a low grade antibiotic and I am against giving a dog any antibiotic for something as minor as tear stains. I have heard using distilled water for drinking water can help. I have also heard adding a tiny bit of vinegar or lemon juice to the drinking water will help by changing the acidity of the tears. Be glad you don't have a maltese. At least yorkies faces are darker so the tear stains are not as obvious.
