Well, as a retired R.N., I am drawing on my experience taking care of surgical patients here. I remember not too many years ago when "banding' was daunted as the alternative surgery for hemorroids. (sorry to be gross). believe me, it was not painless and lasted for a few days. i would rather get it done quick and have the baby back with it's mama. the 20 second pain with using hemostats is forgotten as soon as mommy gets them back.
