Keep doing what you're doing, but he can probably smell the spot in front of your chair and that's what makes him keep going back there. Give the spot a good cleaning with something like baking soda and vinegar so that he can't smell anything anymore.
When I first got Jake and was training him, he would sometimes go on a throw rug that I have in the living room. I gave it a good cleaning, and then I periodically sprayed a little Bitter Apple on it. He never used it again.
