Oh I remember those days!! Pete would get a bath once a week, brushed every day and still would get so matted. It got to the point I was embarrassed to bring him to the groomer, I was worried they would think I was being neglectful
But Im telling you a metal comb type brush works wonders for Pete's coat. . . not a single matt and its been about a month since he was at the groomer. In our house thats considered a miracle
