No one is saying that breeding is bad, but it is when you do it without doing your research first. The question you asked was pretty basic knowledge for a breeder, that was why people assumed that you hadn't looked into it very far.
If you did your research as you claim, then I am sure you are also aware of this: You state that the breeding pair that produced your male also produced a 22 pound dog? Hmmm...that kind of genetic background isn't what you want in a stud. That could very easily put the life of the female you want to breed to at risk. But of course, you knew that, right?
Well thanks for looking into my life history there. Yes, I will get a free puppy out of the deal, but I am not putting my baby at risk to do so. I don't see a whole lot of difference in saving the money to buy one or breeding myself. Either way two dogs are at risk to make that puppy.
Secondly, the pair that made my baby is not the same pair that made the 22 pound yorkie. (Just the dad is the same and he is tiny). Plus the owner of that big puppy feeds him way too much. It is not all genetic.
I knew that girls normally went into heat twice a year. I just wanted to know if any of your own babies only did once a year, but I guess I won't bother with any questions on here anymore---thanks for helping out a fellow yorkie owner...
