I would work on getting his trust back. Give him little treats as you
pass him by and say calming things to him like, good boy or mommy loves
you. Don't force yourself on him just take it one day at a time. I bet
after a week or so he will see you differently. Don't raise you voice to
him even in repremanding him. Be gentle and kind and talk in a soft voice.
You can repremand in that way as well. He needs to feel that he can
trust you before he puts her guard down.

I too want to say Thank You for adopting a Senior Yorkie, I admire you both. That's my plan for later in life too! Oh what a Joy it will be to give so much love in the end years
