Because you don't know of this dogs past, you will probably never know. It could be anything, your voice, your scent, your manners. Wow, congrats for adopting an older Yorkie, that is truly something special and I commend you. I would say that you continue to be patient and realize that this poor pooch has probably been through alot more then you know, remember that if he latches out you.
