This is the first time breeding my 4 year old Yorkie male. What problems can I expect after the "tie"? I read to put baby oil or antibiotic ointment on his penis afterwards. Any help is appreciated.
Always assit in the breeding. Holding the female in position, assist him on mounting and hitting the target, especially on a new stud. Would never put a virgin female and new stud together on a first breeding. A seasoned stud and a virgin or vice a virsa.....Make sure you hold the female during the tie as she can move and hurt the stud, and terminate his studding career. I always wash my males after a breeding and apply Panalog ointment.....tell them what a good job they did, and give them both food, water and put them down to rest. Especially the female, she needs quiet time.....
