Just a few pointers for getting started. You will need to select a male that will compliment the attributes of your nephew's female. The two of you will need to make sure that they adhere to the breed standard. They will both need to undergo complete health screenings with attention to detail in the areas of all of the breed specific ailments that can befall these little guys. In addition, you need to have an extensive knowledge of the line both dogs come from.
The male will need to be at least a year old before you will be able to tell if he is of a quality that should be bred, much less age restrictions before AKC will allow him to be bred. It is impossible to tell if a pup as young as the one you are considering if he will be a good candidate for stud. You may end up with just a pet.
