I also like some padding and underwires. I got used to the Victoria's Secret push-up bras. They really make you look great. Most bodyshapers don't have
both good tummy control and push up pads with underwires, unless you want to pay a fortune.
So...I bought a bunch of affordable firm tummy control, underwired bodyshapers (mostly from eBay or Kohl's when they have a sale on Flexees). Then I went to a discount store nearby and I bought several black, white and nude push up bras for about $2.99 each. I cut out the pads (this can take time) and either used fabric glue or stitched the push-up padding into the bodyshaper bra...and I'm good to go. I find them much more comfortable and cooler for the summer than a bra and a panty girdle.
They need to be hand washed, but it's no big deal. I always figure if something's not exactly the way I want it, there's usually a way to get it that way - except for men!
