Have you considered what your requirements are for a service dog? I would recommend you list those and then determine whether a Yorkie would be able to meet those requirements because of size. It may be that a bigger dog might be better. However, if you are truly looking for companionship a Yorkie would be a great choice if you are willing to put in the commitment to training.
