Call it yorkie crud, black ear, leather ear.....it's all the same thing.

Probably not. It's not that easy to get rid of....It's never been identified as a fungus or an infection......

It does affect silk coats......dogs in humid climates or exposed to to extreme cold....keeping your dogs warm and dry is a good preventative, but even with that you never know.
