Well we use something like an x-pen. It is 25inches high. Maybe you would like to just get the 36 inch one like others suggested? Also I wonder if your x-pen is different from ours? Ours is made of metal and shaped like a rectangle. He hasn't climbed out yet. Yet he loves climibing and can jump up quite high almost like a little bunny! The other option is to keep him in a puppy safe room. That is if you have a smaller room with a door that you could shut that can be made puppy safe. We made a room puppy safe with baby caps on the outlets and since it is small we were able to unplug everything. The plants are out of reach, as is everything else. Good luck!
