Yes your info is correct. Trace has been diagnosed with Legg Perthes and luxating patellas in both of his knees. He is a beautiful dog and I am very bummed that I wont be able to use him in my breeding program. I guess I havent been as lucky as Tami in the fact that she has been offered a replacement dog. When I emailed Jen and Mary Lou about Trace's diagnosis, I havent ever gotten so much as a reply from them which doesnt make me too happy since I did buy 2 dogs from them and have stood up for them numerouse times on this forum. I didnt sign a contract with them, I just went on their word that they stand behind their dogs. My mistake. I hope the OP got a signed contract as I stated earlier. I got Trace for a very good price considering he had wonderful bloodlines loaded with Durrer's and I had high hopes for getting some show quality pups out of him one day. I am bummed, but things like this happen and it is always a risk when you are dealing with animals. It could happen to any of us. I am not 100% sure Legg Perthes is genetic. From what I read it is but you never know. If nothing else I have learned a valuable lesson in this even if is was a costly lesson. I will be smarter in the future. |
