Welcome, Annie & Tinkie! Sounds like training is the way to go. Toto has never presented us with that many problems ... she isn't an angel but her "brat" days are few and far between!
The biggest problem we had was her refusing to even stand up if we put her harness on her and for a while she refused to obey the "stay" command when the front door was opened. We solved that by finding a wonderful trainer who came to our house and worked with her "one on one" and had her trotting on her leash like a pro in one afternoon! He actually taught us how to work with her! Yep! I'd say you are correct in getting training classes for her! Good luck and keep us updated on Tinkie's progress!
