So, my question is - why is it okay to give them cereal and rice etc.? What "grain" are we trying to avoid?

I know people on here give their babies Fiber 1, Kashi, Cheerios etc. - and lots of the homecookers on here say it's okay.

Are there good grains for dogs? Bad grains? Too much grain?
I think we should look at the definition of cereal "grain"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cereal
and pet food "grain" that is actually synonymous with filler. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dog_food
That is why grain free dog food is better.
