Since dogs do well with animal protien, then milk is just fine. Mine get milk two to three times a week and sometimes I mix their yogurt into it.
You can give them soup too if it's home made. Just boil chicken, carrots, celery and cabbage till done, strain, saving the chicken and veggies, put in ref. till cold, then skim off any fat. The rest can be fed to the dogs at meal time.
