Hi There. I Do Cut Harveys Hair And Nails Myself, Because I Just Couldnt Bring Myself To Leave Him With Anyone To Be Groomed Properley.
I Only Use Sissors For Cutting His Hair, As He Just Goes Nuts If I Try To Use My Husbands Hair Clippers (he Doesnt Know That I Tried - Ha Ha Ha). I Find The Sissors Are Ok, I Just Cut Him In The Puppy Cut, But I Also Do All Around His Eyes - I Hate It When They Get Hair In Eyes.
I Cut Him First, Then I Bath Him In The Kitchen Sink, And Then I Wrap Him In A Fluffy Towel And Trim His Nails, I Only Take Off The Ends And Do Them Every 3-4 Weeks. This Keeps Them Short, And With Him Just Having Had His Bath The Nails Are Softer And Easier To Cut.
The First Time I Did It I Thought Harvey Would Go Crazy, But Ot My Amazement He Just Let Me Do It.
It All Gets Easier And You Will Get Better The More You Practice, You Will Be Just Fine.
I Must Just Say Your Layla Looks So Like My Harvey, Same Colouring And Face, They Look Like The Same Size Too - Harvey Is 13 Months Old And Weighs 3.5 Lb.
