I agree with you. When we got Daisy we didn't know anything about Yorkies and I hate to say this, but we didn't even know that the ears were supposed to stand up. I guess it didn't even occur to us since we don't know anyone with a Yorkie and we mostly had rescue "mixes" in the past.

As it turned out, she has really thick, heavy hair on her ears and when we first got her groomed they shaved the tips and they still didn't stand up. People ask us all the time what kind of dog is she and they don't believe she is a Yorkie because of her ears and size. I love the floppy look and would never have taped them. I think the stand-up ears are adorable too. I love both looks.
