 Beware of Pfishing too!
There are MANY pfishing scams online. You get this very official email saying your account will be closed without update information, or it says you ordered something and they are confirming, or it looks like it is from ebay or paypal ...... what they are really doing is sending you to a scam site (that looks just like the real one) where they will trick you into either entering account or personal information ... or ... they will get a cookie planted on your computer to harvest account numbers when you type.
If you get an email from a bank, credit company, ebay, paypal, etc.... make sure it is addressed to your actual name (not dear ebay member, etc). Do not click on the link in the email -- instead go to the site with the address you already know or get from a google search. If you buy online, you have probably already received many of these scams. Be careful! |
