Also try searching through your local classified section in the news paper and lastly of course you can also put your name on the shelter's waiting list for what you are looking for. My three are rescues and my Tia was bought out the newspaper, but I kind of think of her as a rescue too since she was bought, then placed in the paper for sale and she was a bit malnurished too. She was ten months when we got her and was already spayed. She's the little light colored girl in my avatar. She's 1/2 maltese and 1/2 Yorkie. Best of luck. Elaine
