I was glad to see this thread because I kept wondering about the
green ad deal too. I have also still been having a lot of
slowness associated only with this site. Pages don't open very fast, sometimes they just seem to be stuck. Even moving about on a page can seem to have sluggishness. Does anyone know whatever became of the "NEW SERVER" we donated for? Did they ever get it? I have to admit to not really knowing much about a server .... so not sure if they buy it or hook up with them like we do cable.
If anyone is taking a vote -- I would definately vote "NO" to the
green things! Very annoying! I'd rather have banner ads than ones inserted within the posts. I know we already have banner ads too. I like making extra money as much as anyone, but geesh! I figured with all the money generated from hundreds of "
Donating Members" and the extra fund raising projects from the last few months, the site might be solvent enough.
If they are here to stay without regard to anyone's opinion; well, maybe we can alternate colors. Blue would be nice, or maybe a nice magenta? LOL! Okay, so I am grasping for humor so I don't get shot in the foot!
Hate to even complain as I enjoy this site so much. I know the site "belongs" to someone -- but it feels like we all have a vested interest.
