This may sound stupid but I read that you should always walk through a doorway infront of your puppy and that will help them see you as the leader. Because that is what the "Alpha dog" would do. It is simple to do. Also it said to be in charge of when or what your puppy eats, and chose when or where they sleep. The book says to be a leader in your dogs life and they will really look up to you.
My puppy kindergarten teacher also told my hubby that because I feed him, clean up after him and gerenally take on the "care" part of the puppy that he'll see me as the leader. And it is so true. Keeley loves playing with my husband, but is super attatched to me. |
