Winston barks alot when he's looking out the window, or in his own backyard. When out in public he never barks at all. I think it's a territorial thing. The best thing I have found to control this is with sound, to distract him. Something like a clicker, or shaking a can with coins in it, maybe even clapping your hands or making a noise. Don't know if it will help, but I do think the longer you let them bark, the harder it will be to stop it. Good luck!
