I was down the road at a friend's house and my husband had Carley-Bear with him. I really can't go into details, it is just too hard! That was the longest ride to the emergency room, I thought we would never get there. My Carley-Bear was sooooo brave, she didn't cry or whimper, and I know she was in tremendous pain!! This has been one of the worst nights of my life. Luckily, the emergency room was waiting on us and they were so great. After they had her stabilized they let us stay right with her all night. They were able to get the leg back into socket this morning, the broken pelvis was a huge complication, they didn't want to injure her further, but another vet came in this morning and were able to do it. We have since transferred her to her regular vet and I am waiting on them to call. I will be taking her some of her food today, they said she will have to eat, drink and go to the bathroom before she can come home. They said she will have to have complete bedrest to allow the fractures to heal, she is such a tomboy though, we call her "Ruff & Tumble" and I worry this will be really hard. Of course, Cooper was a total mess all night without her, but he was able to see her this morning, which seemed to help. In the midst of all this we are moving, the packers will be here Monday & Tuesday, the truck will be here Wed. and we have a 4 day drive ahead of us. Plus, our house is on the market and we have people in and out.
I know we were really so lucky, but I am just still so scared for her, she is just so little and I know she doesn't understand what is going on. I just couldn't stand leaving her there alone, she is just SO good and sweet, you just don't know how truly good this little girl is, oh how I wish I could go through this for her. I have seen people post with the sick or hurt little ones, and I always feel so bad, but I just had no idea how gut-wrenching this is, she is just a innocent little girl...why do these things happen?? Sorry for the long drawn out post, but I am just beside myself and I know that all of you will be thinking and praying for my little girl
omg, I just now saw this. I sure hope she is making it ok and gurl you better believe I know its scary. I was petrified when I just let maggie fall off the sink counter Tuesday. I cant imagine her getting hit by something like an automobile. sending prayers your way for your baby to be ok and prayers for you to get yourself back together again as I know how bad it hurts when our babies get hurt. good luck and keep us posted.
