I think that law makes sense. Out of control breeding amongst irresponsible pet owners who want to make a quick buck and/or cross-breed for viciousness or other unnatural qualities is why we are having so many problems with anti-social dogs. It's also one of the main reasons other things like the integrity of breeds like the Yorkshire Terrier are being threatened; everyone wants the latest, cutest, weirdest, smallest mix and they'll get it at any cost even if that means destroying breed standards irreperably. Heaven forbid you should say anything though because then you must be an animal hater and trying to interfere with people's 'rights' to do whatever they like. No-one has the right to inflict their ill-informed and ignorant ideals on any animal. If you want to breed, you should have a permit to do so. |
