Let me start by saying that I have very little knowledge of linebreeding, mainly because it is not something I practice, nor do I have the need for it. I have never heard of it correcting a problem, but have heard that some will use it to force an undesired trait to present itself in the offspring. Not to say the practice can't be used in an appropriate manner, but any instance I've ever run across where it was actively being practiced it was being done to reduce size. I think some people try it without knowing what they are doing because they were told by someone that it would result in smaller dogs. (Which theoretically would mean it could also produce larger dogs.) In any case, I think many times the term/practice is used by people looking for a quick way to get some tiny pups without thinking or dealing with the negative aspects that come with it. "So what if it produced some serious off bites or LP...we got some teacups!"
