Hi, this is Little Bit. The Outward Hound (that I am selling) has a clip inside to hook on a harness or collar (I would recommend a harness) so that the dog cannot fall out. It also has a clip so you can clip the two sides of the sling together so that the dog doesn't fall. The sides are about 5 1/2 inches tall with elastic on the edge, but of course the dog sits much lower than that because the bottom is nearly 10 inches wide and it sags down with the weight of the puppy since the puppy is not 10 inches wide.
