Congrats on your new puppy! I have not gotten my yorkie puppy yet but I can tell you that I got Kirby (rat terrier) at age 6 or 7 weeks. Everything turned out fine although he was a bit young. I do remember feeding him softened dog food with a special milk that I got at the pets store. Why not call your local petstore and see what they have. I can't remember the name of it. Sounds like you've got a handle on it though.
