Yeah, I didn't know they can have broken toes either. But sure enough, when I saw the x-ray, they were broken. One toe had a fracture and the other was completely broken. OUCH! The vet was telling me that they get a lot of case with small dogs and broken toes...many of them come in because their toes were stepped on. The bones in that area are so fragile. So ladies, take your heels off when you get home
