You pay tax on your earns that goes towards alot of things, our NHS, government, our pension, etc, etc. You pay depending on how much you earn in a year and you have to earn over a set amount before they take any. Kinda goes in a big pot for the whole country. This way it's fair and everyone gets the health care and benefits they need and if you are really well off... well, then you can go private! lol
