Toy dogs do not grow as long as larger dogs and do not need to be kept on puppy food as long. My 4 month old puppies are on regular food already, with nutrical supplement. toy dogs are very active and do need food that has enough protien for the energy they burn up. There are many breed specific foods available, that cater to the needs of them. I use Nutro small breed, or Canin yorkie 28 or there are others out there too. You just need to make sure you get a good one that is not full of just fillers, or loaded with corn.
