Well, Ralfie definitely gets mad and holds "grudges" like a person. If we don't feed him quickly enough, or let him off the bed as soon as he'd like, he decides to ignore his pad and pee in the middle of a doorway, just as an extra f you mom
But if he wants a treat, and I say "go on your pad" he'll walk right over and use his pad on command. Me and my boyfriend get a kick out of his personality.
