I've never called in and told my boss I had to take the day off because a pet was sick - but I would in a heartbeat if Ferdinand was sick. I think my boss would be fine with it. Of course, I can work from home as well if I needed to and I know not everyone has that luxury.
Now, if I forgot to turn on the A/C on a hot day, I don't know that it would go over very well if I told my boss I needed to go turn it on for my dog. I would still go home and do it, but I'd have to use that time as my lunch hour.
Anything for our furkids, right?!
