I believe that you're supposed to cut off the hair on the top 1/3 of the ear. This helps them stand. Most ears will stand by themselves, and then others will only stand with tape, glue, etc., and then there are a select few that will never stand. Luckily, they look cute both ways! I think the fact that the ears are standing for days at a time is a good sign.
