buckeye does this all the time also. just as tbrook99 said it helps to rub the throat or block the nostrils. try to make them swallow. it still scares me when he does it. when we first got him the vet noticed an irregular heart beat. this turned out to be due to his address change. but then he started this "breathing fit" and i thought he was having a heart attack.
