My first right of refusal clause doesn't stipulate that I will buy the dog back. It is there so that I can insure that none of my pups end up in the pound or other unsuitable living arrangement. My clients know that if they have a problem and need to part with their dog suddenly due to illness or whatever that I will help them rehome the dog or take it in. I've stayed in touch with most of my owners and with my breeders. It's a relationship to benefit the dogs and the breed in general. You brought them into this world, you need to stand behind them.
