We got Summerlin microchipped at the dog show yesterday. She yelped when the lady pulled the needle out, but that was it. She didn't show any signs of discomfort after that. My mom also got Snowbee microchipped, she weighs just over 2 lbs. She cried a lot when they did it, and then she didn't want to play with the other dogs at home, so it must have made her a little sore. They had the HomeAgain chips at a discounted price at the dog show, so we got them there. The HomeAgain website has a comparison of the different brands of microchips, and HomeAgain seems to offer more features. Hope this helps....
