i got morgan's done when she was spayed. She got a HomeAgain chip since that's what our vet has. With all chips, the needle is pretty big and that's probably why your vet doesn't want to do it till she's bigger. However, some breeders do get it done before the pup leaves. the pup may scream or they may not even notice it. it all depends on the pup. it give you a picture of how big the needle is think of your earrings, they produce a 18 guage hole. The needle for the microchip is a 10 guage (the smaller the number, the bigger the hole). it bleeds for a few seconds and you really can't notice it when its over.
