Bella doesn't sleep in a crate she sleeps in a real baby play pen, but she had a wee wee pad at one end of her playpen and used it once in a while the first week or two we had her (got her at 9 weeks). After that she holds it during the night but we kept the wee wee pad in there just in case.
Don't give him water before he goes to bed!! Bella doesn't usually eat or drink after 8pm
