 Rocky's eye not closing
Hi, I took my 10 year old yorkie, Rocky, to the vet today for his yearly checkup. His eye has been tearing but I wasn't too concerned because I had brought him in before for this and was told there was nothing wrong with his eye. This time the vet noticed that he wasn't closing his eye when he stroked under it. He said he thought perhaps he had nerve damage around his eyelid and that it seemed as though his eyelid was paralyzed. I noticed today that he is right - Rocky's eye is not closing even when he sleeps. The vet did bloodwork and is going to do some investigation about this and get back to me. I may have to take him to the opthamologist. Has anyone else ever experienced anything like this? He seems healthy otherwise. It's very upsetting. Thank you for any responses. |
