I think I'd start by seeing what has changed outside that may have him not wanting to potty out there. Is he not getting enough time or are there new dogs in the neighborhood? Just look and listen in the yard - see if you notice anything that might cause him to not want to go out there.

When you do go out follow the pattern you had set previously. Go to one area and no playing or talking just potty time.

Sometimes just a reminder of potty training will get him back on track.
