Unless someone is a true dog lover like yourself (and us), then they won't really be able to understand why we throw parties for our furbabies. I know when I threw Lily her Puppy Shower, some people thought I was crazy, but I did it anyway and I ended up getting lots of support from my friends. I think you should throw the party if you really want to, but just do it for yourself and your doggie. You really can't blame them for not understanding... I mean, some people just don't get it!
The other idea that was thrown out of taking your dog to a park instead is a good idea if you really do feel down about everyone not liking the puppy bday party idea.... But, you do what you feel is right for YOU.
