I too have heard bad things about pet stores, HOWEVER- we (my family) got our maltese from there and my sister got her maltese from there also. She was planning on going to a breeder but fell in love with little Leila when she saw her. Leila is still a puppy, but no health issues at all, and precious is almost 7 now, not health problems either
